This post is a part of our packing tips round up that we’ve put together including the following posts: Essential Cruise Packing Tips, Must Have Items for Travel to Europe, and Ultimate Things to Pack for a Beach Resort.
We talk a little about the Biaggi carry cube backpacks and the Biaggi Runway 22” Carry-on in the Quality Carry-On Luggage section of the Essential Cruise Packing Tips post but we’ll go more in depth in this post.
You can read our review of our real life experience with the Biaggi Runway 22” Carry-on suitcase at this link.
Value
When Angie first discovered the Biaggi brand and the Biaggi Carry Cube backpack, I was a bit skeptical. It seemed expensive. Biaggi sometimes has this priced as high as $99. Now that I’ve used it for nearly 2 years I can definitely say it was worth it and this backpack is high value.
TLDR – This is going to spoil the anticipation for everyone else, but YES, it’s worth it. Even better is if you use our links below we’ve already sourced the best price you’re going to find on it.
Durability
We usually each pack a backpack and a carry-on suitcase for every trip. We are both currently using these Biaggi carry cube backpacks. And we really love them! Angie has the purple one and Jeff has the black color. It’s also available in blue if you like that color best. The backpack is made from a tear resistant nylon and we’ve yet to have a single tear in either of ours after nearly 2 years of use.
Easily Enough Storage for a Long Weekend Trip – Maybe MORE!
This backpack will easily hold enough clothes in the main compartment for a long weekend trip all on its own. We’ve heard some people using it for a trip more than a week! We really like that the backpack has a clamshell style opening like a suitcase that makes the packing process easy. We like that you can roll your clothes (this helps to minimize wrinkles) and you can visually see most everything you’ve packed unlike a traditional backpack where you stuff everything in from the top and everything just drops down into a blackhole to nowhere.

Two Layers of Security
Once you zip open the main cover of the Biaggi Carry Cube backpack, you’ll see there is another separate zippered mesh cover that keeps all your clothes and other belongings secure. Basically, all your stuff is zipped in twice which is great because it makes it more resistant to pick pockets trying to get into your bag.

5 Separate Storage Areas in the Main Bag
We also like that in addition to the 1 large main area of the backpack which has that 2nd zippered mesh cover where most people will probably pack their clothes, there are 4 other separate zippered storage areas on the main backpack.
2 exterior zippered pockets and 2 interior mesh zippered pockets are on the main cover of the backpack. We love that the 2 interior mesh zippered pockets allow being able to see into them without having to zip them open.
Bonus PRO Tip – Use Twist Ties to Secure Your Zippers
When we are traveling in highly populated areas, we will use twist-ties to tie all main zippers on the backpack together making it highly theft-resistant.

The good thing is, even if you’ve forgotten to use our twist-tie pro tip, with this Biaggi Carry Cube backpack if a thief manages to open the main outside zipper of the backpack they will immediately find there are more INSIDE zippers to attempt to open before they can get at any of your valuable stuff.

Zippered Cushioned Laptop Sleeve Pocket Fits Up to a 15 Inch Laptop
There is a cushioned laptop sleeve pocket on the back of the Biaggi Carry Cube backpack which has a soft felt liner to keep your notebook computer protected. We love that it’s so easy to get our computers out and be working almost immediately when we have down time at an airport.

A BONUS Bottom Section of the Bag ! – The Detachable Packing Cube
Another unique feature of the Biaggi Carry Cube backpack is the whole bottom storage section of the bag completely zips off. Biaggi suggests using this bottom compartment, which they call the detachable packing cube, for storing shoes but we find it more useful as a place to keep the liquids bag that you may need to pull out at the airport so that TSA can have a quick review of the contents. It can also be a great place to store snacks for easy access during your travel so that you have a better chance of avoiding that highly overpriced airport food.

Dimensions
The Biaggi Carry Cube backpack is 18.5” x 12.5” x 6.5” including the zip off bottom cube. We love that it is so functional while also not feeling any larger than a normal backpack.
Should You Get it ?
Yes! We are both thrilled over finding this backpack and have been extremely impressed with how much it’s helped us to stay organized during our travels. We’ve been using these Biaggi Carry Cube backpacks almost weekly for 2 years straight and they are both still going strong with very minimal signs of wear. The backpacks are super versatile. We think this is a great choice and we highly recommend it.
