Taco Bell Cravings Box 2.0

Many of you may have already read my post about the Build Your Own Cravings Box at Taco Bell which can be found under the Online Exclusives section in the Taco Bell app. I still think this is a fantastic deal and I highly recommend the Build Your Own Cravings Box because it has so many options for it’s very well positioned price of about $5 to a bit over $6 depending where you are in the United States.
If you are willing to give up some options, Taco Bell now, for a limited time (Taco Bell hasn’t said exactly how limited the time is), has a different Cravings Box which they have placed under the Cravings Value Menu section of the Taco Bell app. This Cravings Box costs less than the Build Your Own Cravings Box saving you about 16 percent if you stick with ordering it as is without upgrades.

This Cravings Box currently costs $5.00 in our area and has fewer options than the Build Your Own Cravings Box, but it does have an extra food item with four food items and a drink as compared to the Build Your Own Cravings Box which has three food items and a drink. This is a bit of a bonus. If this Cravings Box has everything you are wanting anyway and you like it just as it comes, this Cravings Box can help you save some money every time you order as compared to the Build Your Own Cravings Box.

The standard Cravings Box comes with a medium fountain drink, a Chalupa Supreme, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Crunchy or Soft Taco, and a bag of Cinnamon Twists. Taco Bell has made lots of ways to upgrade this Cravings Box but all cost extra money and increase the cost by so much that you are probably better off just ordering the Build Your Own Cravings Box if you really want more options.

The Cravings Box comes standard with medium fountain drink. Many Taco Bell locations allow you to upgrade in the app to a large drink for just 10 cents.
The Main food item has to be a Chalupa Supreme. It can be upgraded to steak or chicken for about 50 cents more. A Black Bean Chalupa Supreme is also an option for no extra cost.

The second food item has to be a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito. It can be customized to have less or none of each of the standard ingredients if that’s something you’d want to do. You can also choose to have extra of each of the standard ingredients but doing so will add additional cost. There are also numerous add-ons some of which are tomatoes, lettuce, onions, potatoes, steak, and chicken, all of which add additional cost. And there are numerous sauces to pick from which again, you guessed it, add additional cost.

The third item has to be a taco. The hard shell taco can be swapped for a soft taco without changing the price. There are various other taco options all for additional cost.

The Cinnamon Twists can be swapped for a Chips and Nacho Cheese Sauce but doing so will cost you an additional 50 cents or so allowing for tax.

Overall, this Cravings Box is a good deal if you order it as is. If you start doing a bunch of customizations and add-ons it’s going to push the cost up quite a bit and the value of the deal starts to deteriorate rapidly. Add this Cravings Box to your Taco Bell toolkit and give it a try next time you have a craving for some Taco Bell. Or stick with ordering the Build Your Own Cravings Box if you want more options for just a bit more money. Happy eating!
