Maximizing Savings at Firehouse Subs

I recently had a birthday and there are lots of ways to go out to eat for low cost with birthday deals. I am also a big fan of restaurants that offer an app to make your purchase. Very often restaurants include exclusive deals in their apps.

I will share with you our recent outing to Firehouse Subs to give you an idea of just how good the deals can get. I have been using the Firehouse Subs app for a while now and I’ve been saving my points to get to the 10,000 points mark which is enough to redeem for a Large Sub with any purchase. A Large Sub at Firehouse Subs is no ordinary sub. This is a 12 inch hot sub that can easy be shared with another person.

In addition, I had my FREE medium Birthday Sub which Firehouse Subs gifts to everyone using the app on their birthday each year.

So I had my FREE medium Birthday Sub, enough points to redeem for a FREE Large Sub, and to my surprise, things kept getting even better. I also had a FREE desert on my account with any purchase! (Sometimes Firehouse Subs will load seemingly random offers into the app to encourage you to visit the store.) So here’s what we did to maximize the values. We made 3 separate app purchases. We also learned there is no waiting time required in the app to place your next order; we did all 3 of these orders in 10 minutes and probably could have done it even quicker than that.

Order # 1 : Ordered the FREE medium birthday sub. No additional purchase required. Cost: $0.00

Order # 2 : Loaded the FREE dessert and then purchased a medium fountain drink since a purchase is required. Our receipt notes a Cookie but we were allowed to pick out a Brownie which costs twice as much.  $2.59 med fountain drink + $0.00 FREE Dessert + $0.15 Tax = $2.74

Order # 3 : Loaded the FREE Large Hook & Ladder sub, then purchased a cookie since this order also requires a purchase. $0.00 Large Hook & Ladder sub + $1.09 Cookie + $0.06 Tax = $1.15

So in summary the total cash outlay was: $3.89

And I redeemed 10,000 points.

For this we got:

(1) Large Firehouse Sub (Hook & Ladder, but you can chose from the many options here.)

(1) Medium Firehouse Sub (Smokehouse BBQ Brisket. Highly recommend!)

(1) Medium Fountain Soda (the medium at Firehouse Subs a 32oz cup so it’s big. Unlimited refills too.)

(1) Delicious brownie

(1) Delicious chocolate-chip cookie (They have other cookie flavors here too.)

I got a little overzealous, my taste buds got ahead of me, and I forgot to take a photo of the birthday sub before I ate it! I got a Smokehouse BBQ Brisket sub and it was delicious! I definitely recommend this sub.

I did take a photo of the Large Hook & Ladder sub before we dug into it.

Many firehouse subs locations are also decorated with firehouse memorabilia and our local store has a really great mural which I’ve also included a photo of.

If you have not signed up for the Firehouse Sub app I definitely recommend doing so. Add your birthday too so you can get your FREE sub on your birthday.

Also – It takes a bit of patience to save your points for the 10,000 point large sub sandwich redemption. It is definitely worth the wait to maximize your value though. Redeeming for a small sub will cost you 6000 points; the small sub is about a 4 inch sandwich. For an 8000 point redemption you can get a medium sub which is about a 8 inch sandwich OR get a salad. The large sub is a 12 inch sandwich that will feed two people. If you are really patient, you can keep on saving your points and eventually accumulate the 50,000 points needed to redeem for the Deluxe Catering Platter.
