The Taco Bell Build Your Own Cravings Box Deal

Angie and I recently visited Sedona, Arizona. I highly recommend a trip to visit this beautiful area of the United States and bring your National Parks Pass with you as it will save you lots of money. We took a break from hiking near Camp Verde, Arizona about a 25 minute drive away from Sedona for lunch at Taco Bell. This Taco Bell is one of the best run locations we’ve ever been too. The food was really good and we liked it so much we went back again on a different day when we were in the area hiking again.

As I’ve mentioned in my other post on Firehouse Subs, if a restaurant has an App, it very often is going to save you money to use it. And you will be earning points towards more FREE food.

The Taco Bell Cravings Box is one of the best deals going at Taco Bell right now. It is offered exclusively in the Taco Bell App. The price fluctuates some across the United States but we’ve seen this offered as low at $5.00 and can sometimes be just a bit over $6 bucks. Most of the time it costs about $5.49 + tax which is what we paid for each of them, plus tax, at the Camp Verde, Arizona Taco Bell.

In the Taco Bell app, choose Menu, then click Online Exclusives. Then click Build Your Own Cravings Box.

The Cravings Box currently allows you to get four items. You get to pick one item from each of the four categories:

CATEGORY # 1: CHOOSE YOUR SPECIALTY: (Choose one from this category.):

• Crunchwrap Supreme
• Cheesy Gordita Crunch
• Chalupa Supreme

CATEGORY # 2: CHOOSE YOUR CLASSIC: (Choose one from this category.):

• Crunchy Taco
• Soft Taco
• Beefy 5-Layer Burrito
• Bean Burrito
• Spicy Potato Soft Taco

CATEGORY # 3: CHOOSE YOUR SIDE: (Choose one from this category.):

• Chips and Nacho Cheese Sauce
• Cinnamon Twists
• Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes

CATEGORY # 4: CHOOSE YOUR DRINK: (Choose one from this category.):

It’s a Medium drink and you can often upgrade to a Large soda drink for as little as 10 cents! Check you app when you are making your choices to be sure what you are paying.

You can see in the screenshot of my Taco Bell app that the two cravings boxes cost us $5.49 + $5.49 = $10.98 SUB-TOTAL  + $1.10 Tax (10% Sales AZ Tax) = TOTAL $12.08.

Ordering straight from the menu in this store for this same amount of food costs over $25 dollars!

For example:

The Cheesy Gordita Crunch is already $4.99 just by itself.

The Soft Taco is $1.79.

Chips and Nacho Cheese Sauce is $2.29

And a Medium Fountain Drink is $2.69

So that’s $11.76 and we have two of these orders so it’s $11.76 x 2  = $23.52

Now add the AZ Sales Tax: $23.52 + $2.35 AZ Sales Tax = $25.87

There are other bundle deals on the menu in the store that can help you save money so if you want one of those deals and it works for you to get the items you want then go for it. For the most bang for the buck though, the Taco Bell Cravings Box offered only in the app is tough to beat.

Remember too that you are going to earn points on every purchase with the app. I’m finding that about every three times we place a Taco Bell order I’m getting enough points for another FREE food item I can also redeem through the app. These are great food items too like: Chalupa Supreme, Doritos Locos Taco, Nachos BellGrande®, and more. The Nachos Bel Grande are valued at nearly $7 dollars so it is pretty great to be getting this for FREE. The FREE items get better as you progress to the Fire level of rewards. Fire level opens after reaching 2000 points earned.

First, you’ll get the Hot level at 250 points. Once you have 250 points you can redeem for one of the following items at Hot level: Bean Burrito, Chips & Nacho Cheese Sauce, Cinnamon Twists, Crunchy Taco or Medium Fountain Drink.

For every 250 point earned you get to redeem for one of the following at the Fire level: Bean Burrito, Chips & Nacho Cheese Sauce, Cinnamon Twists, Crunchy Taco, Medium Fountain Drink, Chalupa Supreme, Doritos® Locos Tacos, Nachos BellGrande®, Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito Sausage, or a Regular Mountain Dew Baja Blast® Freeze.
